TOW Johnny Makes Friends (London)
--> Courteney Cox:
JOHNNY: You've been quoted as saying 'I am Monica Geller'. We all know
she's compulsively neat and tidy, are you like that?
COURTENEY: Well, y'know sometimes you just start making things up after
so many years of being asked 'Are you Monica', so sometimes I say 'I'm
exactly like Monica and sometimes I say' I'm nothing like her'
JOHNNY: Which way are you going today?
COURTENEY: Today I'm gonna go with, I'm not like Monica at all.
JOHNNY: Not even after a hard day on set and you finally get home and
you look around your apartment and you see cushions, maybe just fluff
them up fanatically?
COURTENEY: I take 'em and throw them across the room, literally. You
should see my guitar room, I've wrecked it.
JOHNNY: Okay, I wanna test you. Could you just close your eyes for a
second? No cheating.
COURTENEY: Alright, I'm not looking.
JOHNNY: Alright, here we go. (Puts pen with lid off on table).
COURTENEY: (opens eyes) Oh good god!
JOHNNY: Come on, what about that?
COURTENEY: No, I'm nothing like Monica. (trying to resist it).
JOHNNY: Come on, tension. You wanna straighten that out.
COURTENEY: No I don't. (still trying)
JOHNNY: Look at that (moves pen & lid closer).
COURTENEY: No, it's fine just like that (starting to break).
JOHNNY: Look at the top, it's agonizing. It's just so close.
COURTENEY: I'm really okay about it though.
JOHNNY: Come on, that pen must be really tempting. (Courteney put the
lid back on). There, how about that.
COURTENEY: Now I can do the interview.
JOHNNY: Now you can just relax.
COURTENEY: Well, I can't relax cause I've got problems with my shirt.
Go ahead.
JOHNNY: It's okay, they're good problems.
COURTENEY: You like 'em?
JOHNNY: As time goes by, Chandler seems to get more and more keen on
Monica.
COURTENEY: Well, finally.
JOHNNY: Do you like Chandler? I mean, what do you think?
COURTENEY: I think Chandler's just as neurotic as Monica. They're both
out of their minds in certain ways and they're both lonely.
JOHNNY: I see you two sitting in the arm chair together sometimes, it's
very cozy without being touchy, feely, slimy.
COURTENEY: Right, yeah, we're all pretty comfortable but I think at
the beginning they wanted Matt LeBlanc and my character to be together.
JOHNNY: So could you talk us through a typical day on the set of Friends,
cause we're not seeing it.
COURTENEY: Typical day, okay, come to work, say hi to everyone, usually
nice big kisses for everyone.
JOHNNY: Cause you are friends.
COURTENEY: Cause we love each other.
JOHNNY: Come on, what really happens?
COURTENEY: What really happens, okay, what do we do? First we (Matthew
Perry come & they kiss).
JOHNNY: Right here, right now, look at that.
COURTENEY: That's the first thing we do. We'd actually do it a little
more though.
MATTHEW: (laughs) True.
JOHNNY: He's kinda wild.
COURTENEY: He's crazy.
JOHNNY: Is he quite a looses cannon?
COURTENEY: No, he's not, actually, he's just funny all the time.
JOHNNY: He's a looses cannon.
COURTENEY: He's not inconsistent, he's just consistently funny all the
time. He's great and he's, like, my bud.
JOHNNY: What's the best single thing about being a Friend? Y'know, complete
the following in not less than 12 words to win a holiday, I like being
a Friend because...
COURTENEY: I get paid to have fun.
JOHNNY: The money, good. Okay, I've got a gift. (takes out a plaque
type thing with an English country cottage picture on it) This is a
limited edition of 12 000.
COURTENEY: Wow, it's beautiful.
JOHNNY: It's a little cottage.
COURTENEY: Look at the spinach.
JOHNNY: Diligently fashioned in very good clay and it's beautiful. Isn't
that wonderful. A slice of Ye Olde England.
COURTENEY: How old is it?
JOHNNY: Oh, it's old.
COURTENEY: I can tell.
JOHNNY: Before Christmas. 20 months at 12.99 a month installments. I've
been working up to it and it finally arrived just in time.
COURTENEY: I don't know what to say, I'm gonna cry, I'd better go.
JOHNNY: Okay, thanks, security are here now to take me back to my room.
